Project story
A modern civic centre for Bexley Council has brought together 1,300 staff previously located across four different sites.
The new and efficient workspace is the result of major refurbishment and structural alteration works on a large, outdated building in Bexley Heath. An extension to the rear of the building was created to house a chamber, a member's area, public galleries and flexible meeting spaces.
Embracing modern methods of construction to boost quality and streamline delivery was key to our success.
Before managing the logistics of the move, we prefabricated service modules off site and installed them as completed sections - minimising time on site and significantly reducing the risks of working at height.
Taking it one stage further, we used pre-measured modular data cabling to improve quality, minimise waste and reduce installation time on site.
