Project story
10 Gresham Street is set to become one of London’s most sustainable office buildings in the heart of the city’s historic Square Mile. With Mace Fit Out and Retrofit team appointed as Principal Contractor, the development is undergoing Grade A refurbishment on behalf of CBRE Investment Management.
Designed to go above and beyond to meet the demands and expectations of modern-day occupiers, the new workspace will unlock creativity, productivity, and high performance. Mixtures of natural materials, shapes and colours preserve the original structure including its iconic façade, whilst floods of light will pour across each level through a centralised atrium. The development also boasts a multi-purpose indoor rooftop pavilion with panoramic views of St Paul’s Cathedral, seamlessly blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The rooftop terrace is like no other; populated with meticulously chosen plants, outdoor meeting spaces, flexible event space, sensorial gardens, and relaxation corners. Heights above the hustle of London’s busy streets below, the rooftop ensures space to breathe, inspire one another, and collaborate.
The team has taken a circular materials approach, minimising embodied carbon through the recycling and repurposing of materials, and the removal of fossil fuels. The development hosts a commitment to the sustainable sourcing of timber materials and accountability for other construction materials, such as concrete, glazing, and Terrazzo flooring. Alongside the reduction of construction waste, the completed development will use passive and low energy design measures, including low energy LED lighting and high-performance glazing.
