Working as part of a UK Delivery Team on behalf of the UK's Department for International Trade, Mace helped the Lima 2019 Organising Committee deliver the venues needed for the 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
It’s a programme that has cemented our position as the industry leader in delivering sports and major events infrastructure across the world, adding to a portfolio that includes the London 2012 Olympics, Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium in north London, Dubai Expo 2020, the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Our track record in the sports and events sector was central to our appointment in Lima, and our leading role in the project and programme management of the delivery of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic venues was particularly influential.
Importantly, in the context of Lima 2019, London 2012 demonstrated to the world that Mace and the wider UK construction sector was able to deliver a hugely complex programme to a challenging deadline, without compromising on quality, safety or cost, and with continued consideration for delivering benefits well into the future.
