EirGrid

Harnessing positive collaboration and tactical delivery expertise, Mace’s team in Ireland is working closely with Ireland’s electricity Transmission System Operator, EirGrid. With a focus on supplying secure and sustainable electricity – essential to powering communities and driving the economy – EirGrid is leading the transition to a low carbon future and future-proofing Ireland's electricity grid for the next generation.

As Transmission System Operator, EirGrid manages the flow of power on the electricity grid, moving high-voltage electricity around the country, from where it is produced to where it is used, supplying large energy users and the distribution network that powers homes and businesses. Working hard to achieve their long-term goal to make Ireland’s grid renewable-ready, and with a target of 80% renewable electricity by 2030, EirGrid appointed Mace to the five-year Programme & Project Management Support Services framework in 2021.

With an extensive list of critical projects across Ireland, over the next four to five years the framework aspires to enable the installation of up to 60 additional substations, growing the existing portfolio of around 200 substations connected to the grid. And with substantial progress already being made in connecting the greater levels of onshore and offshore renewable generation, as well as storage solutions being developed, EirGrid’s aspiration to take Ireland to a low carbon future is heading in the right direction.

Our partnership has been highlighted through the positive feedback from key figures at EirGrid: Jason Kenna, Louise O’Flanagan and Brendan Murray. In this client testimonial video, they’ve shared their insights on our collaborative and productive relationship, and how that’s contributed to transforming the power system for future generations.

“The Mace culture is very aligned with what we value in EirGrid. It’s our ambition and passion to ensure that the grid is decarbonised for future generations.”
