Mace appoints Robert Fields as Regional Director for Australia and New Zealand
Mace, the international construction and consultancy company, today announced that Robert Fields will join the organisation as Regional Director for Australia and New Zealand.
Robert joins from RPS where he has served as Executive General Manager, Commercial and Delivery, for Australia and Asia Pacific. He will succeed Jeremy Oakes, who spent nearly 13 years with Mace and will stay with the company in the capacity of a consultant.
With a background in civil engineering, business and commercial law, Robert has two decades of international experience in major infrastructure programme advisory and management consulting services.
At RPS he spent three years leading strategic business planning and management, procurement, commercial and delivery advice for key publicly, and privately funded infrastructure projects. During this time, he successfully led RPS’ Commercial and Delivery business unit, helped secure major programme contracts for clients including Australian Rail Track Corporation, Sydney Metro and Transport for NSW and held the role as Director Commercial (Program) for Sydney Metro.
Prior to RPS, Robert held various senior appointments as a leader within HKA’s Advisory business.
Robert comes onboard at an exciting time, with Australia and New Zealand as a priority market for Mace’s international expansion. Mace is involved in delivering key healthcare, education and transportation projects in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
Robert Fields, Regional Director for Australia and New Zealand at Mace, said:
“I’m delighted to become a part of Mace and to help leverage the huge opportunity for growth. Mace has an excellent international reputation and an inclusive culture, which appeal to me both professionally and personally. There is a massive pipeline of infrastructure work across the Australasian region, and I think Mace’s global best practice around project delivery, the focus on sustainability and appetite to innovate, create a solid foundation for a successful future. I’m excited to be part of the journey.”
Jason Millett, CEO for Consultancy at Mace, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Robert to Mace. His delivery background and experience make him a perfect fit as we continue to expand the business in Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region. We also want to thank Jeremy for his many years of dedication and contribution to Mace. Our consultancy business is going from strength to strength and we are part of some of the world’s most complex and high-profile projects and programmes. Robert is joining at a great time, as we launch our new business strategy and set our sights on providing more crucial infrastructure in Australia and New Zealand over the next five years.”
Robert’s appointment takes effect on 18 January 2021.
