Mace awarded framework with Transport for Greater Manchester

Mace has been appointed to the Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) Transport Professional Services (TPS) framework.

The four year framework, which lasts until 2020, further strengthens Mace’s long standing relationship with TfGM and will see the company working across Manchester’s transportation sector on highways, rail and bus projects.

Greater Manchester is undergoing a surge in infrastructure investment and the Transport Professional Services (TPS) framework, is an integral part to delivering the region’s transport vision across rail, highways, transport intelligence and its public operation systems.

As part of the programme, Mace will provide consultancy services in quantity surveying and project and programme management to support the delivery of the organisation’s capital projects and programmes.

The company has worked with TfGM since 2002 and through a number of appointments has provided procurement, project management and strategic consultancy services. It has also successfully delivered schemes including extending the existing Metrolink network, building and re-developing transport interchanges, upgrading public transport facilities and services, encouraging active travel, carbon reduction and managing the highway network in Greater Manchester.

Mace also recently announced their commitment to the Northern Powerhouse, being the sole construction company to join the newly formed think tank, the Northern Powerhouse Partnership, to be chaired by the former Chancellor George Osborne.

Mace’s Director of the North, Steve Gillingham, said: “It’s a very interesting time to be working with TfGM because the North looks destined for more investment in its infrastructure system. Our appointment in this programme is another strand in our commitment to infrastructure in the region and coincides with our co-founding role on the Northern Powerhouse Partnership.”
